The originally chapel was built in 1391. The chapel had a capacity of 3000 people. The great religious reformator and rector of the Charles University Jan Hus preached here in 1402-1412. In 1661 was chapel changed by the Jesuits into a Catholic church, in 1786 was demolished. In 1950-1952 was built an exactly copy of the original building.
